Sturdy and versatile: our shelving systems
Industrial shelving is subject to high demands – it must be able to support heavy loads, be stable and comply with strict regulatory requirements. Depending on the application, it must also offer features such as ESD protection. Our cabinet and shelving systems are designed for a variety of applications in offices, industrial settings or other technical work environments. Our extensive product range offers solutions for every type of storage. In this article, you will learn about the differences and discover which shelving system is best suited to your workplace.
But first, let’s look at what they have in common: our shelving systems are renowned for their outstanding robustness. Our steel structures, in particular, boast a long service life – even with intensive use. Our powder coatings make the surfaces scratch- and abrasion-resistant. Stability is another feature shared by all our shelving systems. Even when fully loaded, the shelves do not wobble. Furthermore, our shelving systems are particularly versatile and can be easily adapted to different requirements – thanks to their modular design.
Almost all our systems are available in ESD-safe versions and are therefore suitable for use in electrostatic-sensitive environments.
ESD steel cabinets: robust, practical and ESD-safe
Our ESD steel cabinets are robust structures made from high-quality sheet steel. All metal parts are powder-coated with a conductive finish. This makes KARL’s ESD steel cabinets ideal for electronics manufacturing.
Almost all sizes in this range feature four shelves that can be adjusted in height in 60 mm increments – item number 72.641.70 even has five. This allows you to organise the cupboards exactly as you need them.
Our ESD steel cabinets are available either with hinged doors or with swing-in doors. The latter option is particularly space-saving and is suitable for confined spaces such as corridors and offices. When opened, the doors slide into the side of the cabinet.
ESD steel shelving unit
To go with the ESD steel cabinet, we have ESD steel shelving units available. You can use these as a freestanding single shelf, in a row or in a block configuration (back-to-back) – whichever best suits your needs.
These industrial shelving units are available in a wide range of sizes, with heights ranging from 1125 mm to 2125 mm. For each size, there are two different types of top panels: made from conductive sheet steel or from ESD-rated laminate.
Laminate is less prone to scratches, but is not quite as robust as sheet steel. The choice of top panel becomes important when the shelves are used as additional storage space.
Shelving system for Euro-standard containers
Euronorm containers are standardised transport and storage containers. The idea behind them is that standardised dimensions simplify logistics.
For example, four containers with standard dimensions of 600 x 400 mm fill a pallet layer exactly, leaving no overhang or gaps. There are eight standard sizes in total. As these boxes are all the same size, they can be stacked in special Shelving systems for Euro-standard containers store away neatly.
We offer these shelving units in four different sizes, each available in two versions. Here too, you can choose between sheet steel or ESD-coated laminate for the top panels.
Regardless of the design, all shelving systems for Euronorm containers are ESD-safe and are therefore suitable for use in areas protected against electrostatic discharge.
Rolling trolleys: compact and versatile
In many sectors, workstations often need to be reconfigured. That is when Wheeled trolley That’s exactly right – thanks to four swivel castors, they can be moved in no time at all and with minimal effort.
All KARL mobile containers are available, on request, with an ESD-safe sheet steel housing fitted with a central locking mechanism. For use outside an ESD-protected area, our mobile containers are also available without ESD protection.
You also have a choice when it comes to size: our rolling cabinets are available in a wide variety of designs. Each size is available in different versions, varying in the number and arrangement of the drawers. Whichever version you choose, the pull-out stop ensures that only one drawer can be opened at a time.
Wooden range: combining design and practicality
